Following the first event on 3 October, the afternoon of 6 May saw the second edition of the Milan Bergamo Airport FOD Walk.
This is a significant event for an international airport, and forms part of the EASA initiatives related to Safety Week, focusing on the themes of safety and environmental protection and concentrating in particular on the careful collection of items and waste – known as Foreign Object Debris – in and around the manoeuvring area.
Involving a diverse range of figures and entities within the airport environment, above all with the support of ENAC, the initiative is also an opportunity for collaboration and cohesion between the various areas of SACBO, learning how to effectively handle the various objects found, including their classification and the appropriate disposal procedures.
The efforts of the event participants are in favour of safeguarding the airport and fostering sustainability, part of a commitment that will see an ongoing series of popular and heartfelt initiatives.
