As part of its commitment to supporting the local community, Milan Bergamo Airport has joined celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the Italian Alpine Club (CAI) of Bergamo, contributing to the organisation of a memorable event.
The CAI Bergamo, one of the most numerous Alpine Clubs in Italy, celebrated its important anniversary with a special evening at the Teatro Sociale on Friday 3 February, with the support of Milan Bergamo Airport and other local partners. The event saw celebrations begin with the Choir of SAT, the Company of Mountaineers of Trento, performing in a concert that used music and the symphony of voices to tell the story of the mountains.
Firm believers in the safeguarding of our territories and culture, including of the mountains, we can only be proud to be a partner in the initiatives that will be organised this year, supporting local associations that valorise the territory and guarantee a future for these organisations. A way to pursue our mission to be an active partner for the community through a range of events and initiatives that CAI will be organising throughout 2023.
The evening included a moment to announce events open to mountain enthusiasts,including the creation of the “Sentiero dei Laghi (Lake Trail)”, an itinerary that will cross the lakes in the province of Bergamo, as well as solidarity with the “Casa della Montagna”, an educational project to support communities in the Peruvian Andes and local universities.
The celebrations marked the beginning of a form of collaboration that will see the airport providing support to CAI: Cori in Città is an event that will be bringing together in Bergamo, Brescia and beyond, individual groups from every corner of Italy, together with their choirs, for three days of music, culture and unity.
Our support will also be seen inside the terminal, with a celebratory representation of this anniversary, with dozens of further mountaineering achievements to be gained.
