SACBO has signed an important memorandum of understanding with the Province of Bergamo, Confcooperative Bergamo, and Confindustria Bergamo to promote the employment of vulnerable individuals and people with disabilities. The initiative aims to explore effective models of collaboration between the industrial and social economies, enhancing the airport’s positive impact on the local area.
The protocol focuses on the social dimension of sustainability—known as “ESG Sustainability”—by encouraging youth and female employment and promoting the inclusion of people facing challenges in the job market. Through this agreement, SACBO seeks to go beyond mere regulatory compliance, actively embracing opportunities that uphold the dignity and rights of protected categories.
Key actions outlined in the agreement include forming partnerships with social cooperatives affiliated with Confcooperative Bergamo, testing tools for social reporting, and launching job placement programs in collaboration with public institutions.
This commitment confirms SACBO’s active role in promoting a sustainable and inclusive growth model. As SACBO President Giovanni Sanga emphasized, the goal is to “expand the social impact generated by the airport,” both within the company and across the economic and social fabric of Bergamo.
