For its nature as a “port of access” to distant destinations, Milan Bergamo Airport has always believed in the value of education as a means to create, extend and enrich its human and professional opportunities. School has the potential to offer unique opportunities and experiences that go beyond the physical location and, why not, even beyond regional and national boundaries.
2023 sees the sixth anniversary of collaboration between BGY and Intercultura, a non-profit organisation made up of volunteers who, since 1995, have been working in the field of intercultural school exchange programmes. Thanks to Intercultura, the students and families involved can take advantage of an overseas training course with full assistance and certification of the skills acquired.
Once again, this year, we have confirmed our support, providing students the possibility to continue their studies while encountering situations and cultures worldwide. Milan Bergamo Airport has granted 3 scholarships for students following programmes in cross-disciplinary skills (“PCTO”), and 3 scholarships for children of employees at the airport, for a summer stay in Dublin, Ireland.
17 May 2023 saw the award ceremony for the scholarships, which took place with the participation of SACBO management, the CEO Amelia Corti, the Director of HR Roberto Rampinelli, and representatives from Intercultura. The students will be departing together from Milan Bergamo Airport on 23 July for Dublin and will return on 18 August. Before their return flight, they will have the opportunity to visit the headquarters of Ryanair, which are located in the Irish capital.
