“Ol Casél”: 3D printing innovation for sustainable construction at Milan Bergamo Airport

December 19, 2025 marks a key milestone in the infrastructure development journey of Milan Bergamo Airport. In the northern area of the airport perimeter, “Ol Casél” was inaugurated—the first building in Italy dedicated to airport services to be constructed entirely using architectural 3D-printing technology.

Born from the synergy between SACBO, EDILCO Srl, and WASP, the project serves as a strategic service module for the new truck parking area of the Logistic Park. The structure is not only a technological achievement, but also a virtuous example of responsible construction: the use of 3D printing optimizes material usage and reduces the environmental impact of construction phases, while ensuring high standards of efficiency and thermal comfort.

During its construction, the site was conceived as an innovation laboratory open to the local community, allowing citizens, institutions, and school groups to observe firsthand the potential of additive manufacturing applied to architecture. “Ol Casél”—whose name recalls local tradition—thus becomes a symbol of a sustainable transition that brings together Bergamasque identity and the most advanced frontiers of digital construction.

Through this initiative, SACBO reaffirms its strategic vision: investing in pioneering solutions to transform the airport into a technological development hub that is increasingly integrated and environmentally responsible.
