The National Association of Disabled and Civilly Invalid Persons (ANMIC) of Bergamo has awarded SACBO a prestigious recognition for the service provided to passengers with reduced mobility at Milan Bergamo Airport. The ceremony took place at SACBO’s headquarters, in the presence of ANMIC Bergamo President Giovanni Manzoni and SACBO President Giovanni Sanga.
“The association expresses deep gratitude to SACBO for the attention, promptness, and continuous collaboration demonstrated in ensuring the quality of services offered to people with disabilities—an effort that makes the Bergamo airport an international benchmark,” reads ANMIC’s official statement.
In 2024, a total of 88,480 assistance services were provided, marking a 50% increase compared to 2019. These figures confirm SACBO’s ongoing commitment, as highlighted by President Giovanni Sanga: “Our focus on people with disabilities, as well as those experiencing temporary impairments requiring assistance at the airport, is always paramount. […] Credit must be given to all SACBO staff for achieving widely recognized quality standards, and we remain committed to further improving our services.”
The long-standing collaboration with ANMIC remains strong even after decades, fostering continuous dialogue that has led to the creation of an outstanding Sala Amica, including dedicated areas for individuals with autism. Currently, the airport has launched an awareness campaign to encourage the booking of assistance services, ensuring timely and appropriate support for everyone, without exception.
SACBO reaffirms its position as a leader in accessible services, fully addressing the needs of every traveler.
