Initiatives for a Safe Environment for Everyone: Milan Bergamo Airport Introduces “Pink Parking” Spaces

Putting the people who work at the airport at the center means taking care of their safety and well-being, both inside and outside operational areas. With this goal in mind, in July 2025 the airport introduced “pink parking” spaces: designated parking spots created especially for women working at the terminal, offering greater convenience and protection when arriving at or leaving work.

These parking spaces are located in areas close to the terminal, in order to minimize walking distance—particularly during the more delicate hours of the day, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. It’s a small yet meaningful improvement that can help those returning from an evening shift feel more at ease and safe.

The effectiveness of this initiative depends on everyone’s cooperation: we ask all staff to keep the “pink” parking spaces free, ensuring they remain available to those who need them most.

This is not an isolated gesture, but part of a broader approach that views work as a daily experience to be lived in a respectful, attentive, and inclusive environment. Small, concrete actions like this express the airport’s commitment to being not only a place of transit, but also a community where people genuinely care for one another.
