#CANCROZERO: BGY supports the Regional Health Agency and cancer screening

In line with its ongoing focus on the themes of well-being and health services, Milan Bergamo Airport demonstrated its support for the #CANCROZERO initiative organised by the Bergamo Regional Health Agency, which promotes screening for colon-rectal, cervical and breast cancer.

What is cancer screening?

Cancer screening is a test that is carried out for the early identification of any precancerous lesions or early-stage tumours. Screening cannot prevent cancer, but it helps to detect it early, allowing for prompt intervention with less invasive and more effective treatments.

Cancer screening is aimed at people within a particular age range, which varies according to the type of tumour, who are not characterised by particular risk factors.

Why take part in cancer screening?

Undertaking cancer screening is an act of responsibility towards oneself and others and can contribute to the fight to combat this disease. Screening consists in early diagnosis of cancer, reducing deaths due to cancer and helping to prevent the disease.

The communication campaign

With the slogan “Screening, why wait? #Cancrozero”, the aim is to raise general awareness over the importance of prevention. Communication has proven to be essential for this initiative, with advertising campaigns, information stands throughout the area and content for social media and digital channels, providing information on multiple levels. The involvement of local organisations and institutions has also played a highly significant role in spreading the message.

Milan Bergamo Airport supports the project

Milan Bergamo Airport has been involved in the #CANCROZERO initiative, providing support for the Bergamo Regional Health Agency communication campaign, periodically spreading the message and the project slogan on its social network channels.

BGY serves as a point of reference and dialogue for the community, supporting the initiatives of the Bergamo Regional Health Agency and the other organisations operating in the field of treatment and prevention. We are delighted to be part of such an important project for the community, one that raises awareness and may help to save lives.
