In June 2022, Milan Bergamo Airport signed an agreement with the German company Airsight, a leader in consultancy and training in the field of aviation safety. Not only does this agreement mean that SACBO now serves as one of the settings for Airsight courses in Italy, but it also paves the way for the exchange of skills and resources between the two organisations, fostering joint growth and innovation in the airport safety sector.
The partnership will see the development of new training programmes that will allow personnel to gain advanced skills, also drawing on the availability of tutors from both companies. In 2023, SACBO hosted four key courses aimed at improving the skills of airport personnel, including:
- Training and Proficiency Check Program for Aerodromes
- Aerodrome Instructors & Assessors
- Aerodrome Safety Incident Investigation
- Drone Incident Management at Aerodromes
The following training courses and programmes were held in 2024:
- Training and Proficiency Check Program For Aerodromes
- Obstacle Assessment
- Aviation terminology for Aerodrome Operators
- Aerodromes Instructor & Assessor
- NOTAM and METAR
The sessions for the “Training and Proficiency Check Program for Aerodromes” saw the participation of two SACBO employees (Simone Nadin and Azzurra Cortinovis) as co-instructors.
This collaboration represents a significant opportunity for development for SACBO, allowing its own personnel and sector operators to access specialised training and contributing to an improvement in infrastructure management and operational safety within the constantly evolving airport world.
