On 20 February, the Board of Directors officially approved the publishing of the new call for tender for interventions of environmental mitigation dedicated to residential properties in the area surrounding the airport, in line with the previsions of the 2030 Airport Development Plan.
SACBO has allocated 4.5 million euros for the call for tender. The project, which forms part of the multi-year plan aimed at favouring environmental compatibility between activities regarding air traffic and the territory affected, is the fourth of its kind and is a continuation of the projects implemented in 2009, 2015 and 2017.
The areas involved in the provisions of the call for tender, identified in collaboration with local municipal administration, are located in the municipalities of Bergamo, Orio al Serio, Grassobbio, Seriate, Bagnatica and Brusaporto.
Homes within these areas will be able to apply for assessment to ascertain whether they qualify for works to improve sound insulation through two types of intervention: structural (substitution of doors and windows and the insulation of blind housings) and optimisation of acoustic comfort.
The residential units applying to the relative municipalities for intervention will be assessed with the technical support of the National Research Council Institute for Construction Technology (ITC-CNR).
