A focus on safety: the airport’s Plan of Assistance for Air Accident Victims and their Relatives 

Milan Bergamo Airport contributes on a national level and beyond to ensure that themes related to safety and passenger assistance are the subject of discussion, with a view to guaranteeing constant evolution.

During the recent conference organised by the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO) and the Middle East Regional Office of ICAO, which took place in Muscat, Oman, Lorenzo Mantegazza, Security Manager and Deputy Emergency Manager at BGY, had the opportunity to present the “Airport Plan of Assistance for Air Accident Victims and their Relatives”.

The plan, developed by the company SACBO in collaboration with ENAC – the Italian Civil Aviation Authority – and the 8 October 2001 Committee, is a joint project aimed at improving the management of aviation emergencies through guidelines and procedures for the people involved to varying degrees. The aim of the document is to update the various current standards with a view to improved efficiency and support, a goal made possible through collaboration with organisations and figures involved.

The presentation of the plan by Milan Bergamo Airport is just one of the initiatives that demonstrate its commitment and devotion to guaranteeing the utmost safety of its passengers. As an important local and international organisation, we believe in playing an active role in shaping the dynamics and procedures that fall within our responsibility, rendering the management of airport operations increasingly efficient and highly satisfactory.
