After the obligatory break in 2020 and 2021, 21 June saw the return of our appointment with music at our airport.
Promoted by the Ministry of Culture and with the enthusiastic support of ENAC and Assaeroporti (for the fourth time), the new edition of Music Day, characterised by the theme “Recovery Sound & Green Music Economy”, represented a moment of normality for one of the sectors most affected by the health emergency.
Ours was one of eight Italian airports that decided to take part in the initiative. During the 10-hour event, with the first note being played at 9:00 a.m. and the final concert drawing to a close at around 7:00 p.m., the entire airport was transformed into a festival in which different areas of the terminal featured musicians in performances that touched on a range of musical styles.
From the students of the “Paolina Secco Suardo” high school to the talented young artists from the “Gaetano Donizetti” Conservatory to the country concert by the group Mismountainboys, a legendary Italian band, which played a touching tribute to Remo Ceriotti, a precious and unforgettable SACBO collaborator and the band’s founder.
Featuring wind instruments, violins, pianos, guitars and much more, Music Day was an opportunity for us to collaborate with a number of local organisations, involving them in the event, and to entertain travellers passing through to the sound of Bergamo’s talents.
