SACBO has embarked on an ambitious process aimed at innovation and sustainability, key elements for the future of airports. Over recent years, the company has launched a series of initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and reducing the environmental impact of its activities.
Its participation in the call for tender organised by the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy through the AVIO project has led to SACBO undertaking an ambitious development programme. In collaboration with the companies TXT and SORINT.Tek, as well as the University of Pavia, SACBO aims to create an innovative technological platform with a view to optimising operational processes within the airport.
The main aim of the project is to create a prototype of Digital Twin, an advanced tool that draws on technology such as Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, Computer Vision and Deep Learning. This prototype will allow airport operations to be managed in a more efficient manner, improving levels of service, security and overall efficiency.
The project was launched in January 2024, together with a number of equally important parallel activities. These include the proof of concept (POC) of Artificial Intelligence systems for monitoring guards at the security controls and the perimeter fence. Security systems have also been set up for the northern entrance, including video surveillance solutions, access controls and systems such as UVeye.
In short, the AVIO Project represents a significant step forward in optimising operational processes within the airport through the adoption of advanced technology and collaboration between research organisations and specialised companies.
