24 January saw the 2023 edition of our BGY Workshop, the annual event where airlines and tour operators meet trade representatives for the presentation of airport projects and initiatives.
The event saw approximately fifty participants, including airlines, tour operators and tourism organisations that carry out activities at Milan Bergamo Airport.
The event was hosted by Life Source of Bergamo, an innovative and recently constructed reception centre chosen for its ecological and sustainable characteristics.
The event took the form of an open dialogue that saw an illustration of the most important news for the airport both in terms of destinations and the terminal.
In view of the summer flight schedules, which are due to come into effect on 26 March, 24 new routes were announced; a significant increase characterised by an ever-richer offer from Ryanair (which will be offering 108 routes) and considerable growth in international and intercontinental connections.
Over the course of the day, SACBO management was joined by representatives of Ryanair, Air Arabia, Aeroitalia, Volotea, Albastar, FlyDubai, Neos, Wizz Air, Vueling, TUI Fly and Turkish Airlines.
The event saw a presentation of the plans for interventions for the coming years, with an illustration of future expansion works for the airport, from the creation of 23 new check-in desks to 2 new non-Schengen gates (bringing the total to 12), as well as a new duty-free area and a new, larger area dedicated to security controls.
The day concluded with a series of prizes offered by the airlines and tour operators, which were assigned to the guests via a raffle.
