Music and culture to enhance the territory: BGY supports the Rubini Festival

Over recent years, Milan Bergamo Airport has played an active role in the promotion of local culture. With its commitment to supporting and sponsoring initiatives of varying nature, the airport has carved out a significant role in the promotion of art in all its forms.Music is a field that SACBO holds particularly close to heart, as demonstrated by the concerts to be held in June.

BGY is a supporter of the Rubini Festival, a musical event organised in collaboration with the Municipality of Romano di Lombardia. This festival celebrates the figure of Giovan Battista Rubini, the famous tenor from Romano di Lombardia who shaped the opera scene of the 19th century. As well as guided tours and travelling shows, the festival offers a series of musical concerts open to the public.

10 June 2023 saw the gala evening for the winners of the “G.B. Rubini International Lyrical Competition”, celebrating the international lyrical talents who won the prestigious competition, while 23 June saw an unmissable concert by the brass group of the Bergamo Conservatory. An opportunity to experience a musical journey that ranges from the Renaissance compositions of Gabrieli to the works of Gaetano Donizetti.

The final date is 8 September 2023, with the lyrical concert “The Romance of Rubini”, an emotional evening to the sound of symphonies presenting arias by Mozart, Rossini, Belliniand Donizetti, and in honour of the great tenor Rubini.

Milan Bergamo Airport is at the service of culture through its support for the “Rubini Festival” and other important events. Bergamo, above all in this “year of culture”, and Lombardy, have a patrimony to be valorised and shared, and we are delighted to play a role in its promotion.
