The series of initiatives aimed at the sustainable development of the airport has been enhanced with a new feature.
The last few days have seen the implementation of the six full-electric vehicles that SACBO has added to its company car fleet.
The vehicles, which are 100% electric, are latest-generation models, with elevated range and the most recent technological innovations.
The decision to renew the fleet is a further step in demonstrating the new commitment to reduce emissions. The new vehicles are, in fact, part of a process shared with BGY International Services S.r.l. (our affiliate and main airport handling agent) aimed at substituting service vehicles with new electric vehicles and oriented at the progressive and definitive “abandoning” of traditional pollutant-fuelled vehicles.
The new vehicles will also be recharged with electricity that is at least 50% generated from zero-emission renewable sources; the initiative will make an even more consistent contribution to the goal of zero emissions declared in 2019 with the signing of NetZero2050 and underscored more recently with the 2022 Toulouse Declaration (consider that for every 1,000 litres of unused petrol, more than 2 tons of CO2 are saved from being released into the atmosphere).
