The world of global civil aviation and, as far as we are more closely concerned, that of European civil aviation – through the association Airports Council International Europe, is heavily committed to actions aimed at favouring a reduction in emissions and ensuring more sustainable airport infrastructure.
In this light, the SACBO Group is moving in the same direction as the leading European airports and has set itself an even more challenging goal; to achieve zero net C02 emissions by 2050.
It is a commitment that we have pursued over the years by taking part in numerous projects.
Last February’s adherence to the Toulouse Declaration, previously examined in depth in a dedicated article, was the latest in a series of initiatives that we have chosen to embrace.
One of the first steps in this direction dates back to 2019 and the signing of the NetZero 2050 resolution, an initiative promoted by ACI World that sees us collaborating with important international airports to achieve zero CO2 emissions.
Below is an opportunity to listen to the statement made by SACBO’s Managing Director, Emilio Bellingardi, with regards to NetZero 2050.
