“Winter Games Express”: a record-breaking achievement with a commitment to solidarity

The art of pastry-making and the value of solidarity come together in an extraordinary initiative featuring our airport as a key player. Milan Bergamo Airport proudly supports the “Winter Games Express” project—the longest chocolate train in the world—which has officially entered the Guinness World Records with a length of 55.27 meters and a weight of 2.3 tons.

The creation is the result of the talent of master pastry chefs from Bergamo, Brescia, and Malta, who worked side by side with young students from schools and vocational training centers. This collaboration highlights the importance of passing on skills to new generations, a value that Milan Bergamo Airport consistently promotes through its partnerships with educational institutions.

After being showcased in Milan, the record-breaking train was installed in the passenger terminal of Milan Bergamo Airport on January 29, where it will remain on display for three weeks until February 19/20. The initiative, part of the “Olympics for Culture” program of Regione Lombardia, embraces a noble charitable cause: during the period of the Games, the sale of special “Winter Games Express” chocolate bars will raise funds for the Associazione Cure Palliative ODV-ETS di Bergamo and St. Michael Hospice in Santa Venera, Malta.

Milan Bergamo Airport’s participation in this project reflects the management company’s commitment to supporting local excellence and initiatives capable of generating a positive social impact, strengthening the link between education, culture, and support for local social and healthcare organizations.
