The initiative focuses on &nbsp;the study and prototyping of a <em>Digital Twin<\/em>, creating an advanced simulated reality to enhance &nbsp;the management of all ground operations and the training of airport staff. The project has &nbsp;been co-financed by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy through the Complementary &nbsp;Fund of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The goal of the project is to optimize airport operations, making them not only more efficient &nbsp;but also safer through the use of sensors, smart cameras, and a modern interface.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another key aspect is staff training: with the help of Virtual Reality, operators will be able to &nbsp;practice in highly realistic digital environments, simulating real-life scenarios such as routine &nbsp;airside operations, including aircraft and vehicle movement on the apron.&nbsp;As Giovanni Sanga, President of SACBO, explained, Project AVIO is an initiative with a &nbsp;forward-looking vision\u2014a clear example of how technology can improve airport management, &nbsp;making the air transport sector smarter, safer, and more sustainable.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Project AVIO has officially launched, born from a synergistic collaboration between SACBO, &nbsp;the companies TXT e-tech and Sorint.TEK, and the University of Pavia.
